现代孩子从小就学竞争，延伸至斗争，然后是战争。凡事只有“利”一字。这就是西方的教育。可悲吧！

从前，中国小孩看起来很可怜,很吃亏。父母一定要孩子学礼让。真么个让法呢？小的一定要让大的。吃饭时一定要让长辈们先上桌，等等。小孩习惯了，长大以后，延伸成谦让。这就是为什么当中国是最大强国时，未曾与其他国家发动战争，反而是到处派使者帮帮小国。他们懂得如何庇荫后代，留福给子孙。

从前中国人没能力发展科技吗？不是的。他们发明后又把它毁掉。为什么？他们知道发展得太迅速会使世界更快速走向毁灭。他们有道德，有智慧！

由此可知，中华民族能绵延五千年不衰，不是没有原因的。外国人现在都到中国寻宝。

寻什么宝呢？平息社会动乱的宝！寻找幸福人生的宝！拯救地球的宝！

他们知道儒释道三家的经典里头蕴含着人类智慧的精髓，不只是中华民族的智慧，而是全人类发展至今的智慧。何谓儒释道三家呢？

儒-孔孟学说。释-佛法。道-道家。

华夏子弟们，别把祖宗留下来的宝往垃圾蓝里丢。而为什么我们要学文言文？文言文是开这个宝库的钥匙！

看了这短片，辛酸的眼泪会不由自主地哗哗直下。从来没看过如此触目惊心的短片。

空闲的话，一定要把它看完哦！里头叙述了现代鸡只和猪只的一生。

偶尔在菜市场会听到鸡只被宰割的残叫声。
但，好似对它麻木了。

以往，看到 ‘ 家禽 ’ 这名词就想到：
桌上的其中几盘美食佳肴。

真只是如此吗？

难到，家禽就不是生命吗？
它们被剪齿，阉割，剪尾，剪耳，电，宰割，。。。
难道就不会伤心痛苦吗?
家禽也有家亲眷属啊！
在饲养到宰杀的过程中
心里不知有多少的怨恨和不满。
反问人类，吃了它们的肉，会安心吗？

动物受到如此残忍的对待，身体肯定都是毒素。
为了让一只鸡能在两个月内长大，一只猪在半年内长大，
饲养者也得让每一只家禽注射化学药物。
生活在狭小的空间，家禽也难免会伤痕累累。
人类吃了这样充满毒素，药物的肉，
请问，会健康吗？
请问，癌症病患为什么会那么多呢？
现在社会，1/4 的人会得癌症。为何癌症是前所未闻的呢？
‘祸从口入，病从口入’。
想一想，事实就摆在餐桌上嘛！

有些问题不是说我们不去理会就不存在。
人类为了满足自己的三寸舌，不惜如此的糟踏一条条无辜的生命。

Ok, here is our 1st destination.

Arc de Triomphe.

'The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It was commissioned in 1806 after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon at the peak of his fortunes.'

'The triumphal arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I.'

'The inside walls of the monument list the names of 558 French generals; the names of those who died in battle are underlined.'

Laying the foundations alone took two years, and in 1810 when Napoleon entered Paris from the west with his bride Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria, he had a wooden mock-up of the completed arch constructed. 'The Gordion Knot is often used as a metaphor for an intractable problem, solved by a bold stroke ("cutting the Gordian knot")'

Here goes the story...

'At one time the Phrygians were without a legitimate king. An oracle at Telmissus (the ancient capital of Phrygia) decreed that the next man to enter the city driving an ox-cart should become their king. This man was a poor peasant, Gordias, who drove into town on his ox-cart. He was declared king by the priests. This had been predicted in a second way by a sign of the gods, when an eagle had landed on that ox-cart. In gratitude, his son Midas dedicated the ox-cart^[1] to the Phrygian god Sabazios (whom the Greeks identified with Zeus) and either tied it to a post or tied its shaft with an intricate knot of cornel (Cornus mas) bark. The ox-cart^[2] still stood in the palace of the former kings of Phrygia at Gordium in the fourth century BC when Alexander arrived, at which point Phrygia had been reduced to a satrapy, or province, of the Persian Empire.

In 333 BC, while wintering at Gordium, Alexander attempted to untie the knot. When he could find no end to the knot, to unbind it, he sliced it in half with a stroke of his sword, producing the required ends (the so-called "Alexandrian solution"). Once Alexander had sliced the knot with a sword-stroke, his biographers claimed in retrospect that an oracle further prophesied that the one to untie the knot would become the king of Asia.

Plutarch disputes the claim that Alexander sliced the knot with his sword, and relates that according to Aristobulus, Alexander pulled the knot out of its pole pin rather than cutting it. Either way, Alexander did go on to conquer Asia as far as the Indus and the Oxus, fulfilling the prophecy.'

Spring is really AWESOME!! March is the start of Spring and flower is starting to bloom everywhere! Temperature rises from around 0 degree in winter to around 10 degrees now, which will be suprisingly warm in my room.

So far, Daffodils and Crocus are blooming everwhere and the bud on trees are getting fatter and fatter.

I don't know the conditions it favours. Apparently, my room is too warm for it. So that part remains alive because it is leaned against the cold window.

A more successful attempt. Haha, coz its a fern, ferns are easier to look after.

That is the best I can do, you would have to live on fluorescent light. Bo bian la, Sunlight can't reach here...

Sigh, how i miss the bright powerful sun. Growing things is not that hard then. This is the jasmine in my room back in Malaysia.

I couldn't wait to blog about this!

Mary Poppins! Wow, we were soo lucky to get the best seatings for half price! The original price for the best view is GBP 35. But students get half price on certain days. So it is GBP 17.50 for each. But it is really worth it. I had been dreaming of watching live musicals ever since in Malaysia and now here it is!

We could'nt take photos inside this theatre but we managed to take a few while waiting for show to start anyway. Even though the show is on every day from December 2008 till March 2009 in Palace Theatre, it is still full every single day! Look on and you will see what I mean. Those are the GBP 35 seatings and you can't find any empty seats there.

These was taken on one snowy morning after breakfast at Dalton Ellis. A bunch of Malaysians, was seen laughing and posing and throwing snow at each other...

Here is the start of 2nd semester! Its quite a jerky start since we just finish exam 3 days ago.

For this semester, I am going to make improve my study method:
#1. Study BEFORE and AFTER every lectures. No choice, since I am a slow poke in catching things.

#2. Make sure I know what is 'TODAY'S DATE'. I am not going to be blur blur about dates again. Its nothing serious but missing labs, go back room sleeping and thinking that its your day off when everyone in your group is doing experiments in lab is just what I would like to avoid from now on. Worse still, I realised I missed lab only when it was time to hand in reports, which is one week later. (Well, hope I can keep this rule #2).

#3. Avoid sleeping later than 10 pm whenever possible. As it is not good for health and makes my brain extra slow and stupid. My usual sleeping time : 9.30pm till 6.30 a.m. Nine hours. Just nice for me to get up and do usual things then Skype with family before going to lectures. Keep it up!

#4. Exercise more!!! Walk more to lectures, if the weather is fine and if I remember to wear my thick jacket to keep warm. Its hard to resist Bus 50 but I CAN do it anyway!

#5. Learn to knock at lecturer's door and ASK if there is any problem. This needs some courage and planning before hand. This reminds me of what our interiezting Engineering Design lecturer - Dr Esther Ventura said " I AM a carnivore but human flesh is just not my preference....' Ok, I will remember this.

( Cant think of anything more ) So this is the end of my MUST DO's List. I doubt I can do #5 but others should be fine. (I guess?)

Guy Fawkes Day a.k.a. Bonfire Night

It is one of the annual celebration in UK. Generally it celebrates the foiling of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot in which a number of Catholic conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, were alleged to be attempting to blow up the House of Parliament in London.

The bonfire really warm us up in the cold weather.
